Featured Car - Mel Ayala's 1987 Grand National

A Florida cruiser!

Mel is a student at the University of Central Florida majoring in Computer Science. He's had this car for a little over 2 years now. He bought it on October 5, 1999 from a guy in Ft. Myers, FL after wokrking hard and saving his pennies! He really enjoyed the 4 hour drive home that day!

The car was mostly stock with the exception of the K&N filter, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and the chrome turbo shield and up-pipe. Mel took it to Cal Hartline and now it's in great running condition. Mel had it repainted on March 19, 2000 since the old paint was chipping and some minor rust spots were beginning to show.

Mel hasn't had the time time to take it to the track since he's done some of the modifications but when he bought it, it ran a best of 14.20. I'm sure it runs a bit better than that now!

Mel tells us that he loves his car very much and there is no better feeling than driving around on a cool fall day in Florida.
