whats the widest tire you can put on a non lowered t-typw and what backspacing do you need?
I just finished putting a set of MT ET Streets on my car. They are 28x12.5x15 and are on a set of 15x8in rims with 3.5in back spacing. They fit extremely well and completely fill up the wheel well. But best of all, they do not rub anywhere. I dont think you could get any wider of a tire into the wheel well without modifying it. Im sure if someone else has though they will chime in.

Are sure your M/T's are 28x12.5x15 and not 28x10.5x15. I run 28x10.5x15 M/T slicks on my 87 with 3.5" backspace and have to run airbags to keep from rubbing both wheel arches and the LH frame rail and they still rub on a wavy track. Maybe the ET streets aren't so meaty on the sidewall. Have you tried a hard launch with 'em? If so, what's your best 60' time.

Yes, the ET Streets are 28x12.5x15 and as you suspected they are not truly 12.5in. They actually are only a little over 10in, but they are labled as a "12.5in" tire. No, I havent gotten to the track yet because I literally just put them on last night, but i did do some pretty wicked launches on the street (late night test and tune of course) and they havent touched anywhere yet. I am also running airbags with 6/10psi. I am going to the track this Friday so i will post my 60' times when i get back.
