Can I fit a 15x10 weld drag star on the back of my GN, and if so what back spacing do I need. I plan on running hooser quick time pro's that are 26x12.50 15. They have a true 10' inch tread. If any one else has any ideas on the wheel tire size I am all ears. thx Jeromy

I can not imagine fitting either that wheel or that tire under the wheelwell without frame modifications. I don't think wheelwell lip modifications would be sufficient.

Jeromy, I have 15x10 auto drags on my 87 gn right now with 295/50, and 15x8 with 265/50 up front and both do not rub or stick out of the wheel well. It took hours of measuring and doing the math on the spacing from drum to frame, and then section width of the tire on rim and how much each end will have bulging out and so on. Here is what I found for the rim to work, THE ALUMINUM DRUMS! It seems as if they are 1/8 thicker than the steel, so this give you that much more backspacing to play with, I have 4.5 inches of backspace with 5.5 going toward the wheel well. I made sure I did the poly bushings in both arms and would even recommend a bigger sway bar. I have a steep drive way going up and the car seems to have the most minor of a mark on them on the inside, the bar will help alittle with that, but on the road at even 80 the car moves lane to lane with no problem. As for the 12.5 slicks, no way with that spacing. The 295/50 has a section width of 11.6, 1 inch less than your desired tire. There is about .5 inch between the tire sidewall and the frame. The slick would definitely rub. As for the wheel well, I lowered the car and put air shocks on. And had the wheel well lipped to make sure it would not explode on a lauch. It fits and looks menacing! Check out the photo on my site under my ride, should be on 10/24/01 www.spoolinup.com
GO FOR IT! I was told by everyone it would not work, even centerline! Now others that see it want it, and it does not look like 1976 revisted with the wheel stickin out and the car sitting 6 inches higher so it would not rub.
