Well, I must admit, I have come from the Blue Oval. I sold my 91 Mustang LX 5.0 today and bought my dad's 86 T-Type designer package. Its stock except for an ATR exhaust. She has 54K original miles and my dad bought it new. Its in desperate need of a paint job, but other than that, its a great ride. Just thought I'd say hello and see what this place is like. If there are any Turbo owners in central Illinois, I'd like to hear from ya!

Yea, you are going to be really unhappy with a vintage one owner '86. I'll take it off you're hands for whatever you paid for it. ;)

Seriously, congratulations. You're pretty close to Charged Air, aren't you? He's got some stuff that you're gonna love!

Yeah, that's got to be a REAL bummer..one owner, and you've know the guy your whole life. ;) I'm close, but not close enough, about 2-3 hours away I think. If you ever make your way to Gateway International Raceway, let me know, and there are a few others on the list(a moderator, an old fart that rides an old Schwinn wearing a Buick hat/tshirt, and a lurker) that I know of that go there as well. Have fun with the new toy,
Scott
BTW...time to change that email address. ;)

Tehee I got super lucky with mine. My dad has owned what is now my '87 GN since he bought it... IN '87... new. It was stolen in Memphis in '95 and ridden hard enough to ruin a short block, warped cylinder walls and all that. So he coaxed the insurance company into a new block for him. Houston, TX where he lives now decided to start rigid emissions testing, and they found an exhaust leak... turns out they didn't have a replacement that matched stock crossflow setup, so they installed the monte-carlo g-body style dual exhaust (resembles ATR's setup, just not stainless). It being a 140k mile car with only the SHORT block replaced, it also developed problems with AC, oil pressure, etc. He had a race shop put in a high volume/pressure oil pump, and someone else recharged the AC. I got all of this for..... $5,000 that I paid him back in '95. Plus $27.50 to register the title transfer to me. The thing pulls like a raped ape in hell, a manual C5 owner that I work with was impressed, wants to run against me. Rumor has it he's been having trouble on the shifts (his is a manual) and getting low 14's, even though I know his car is good for more. Hrm... time to buy that race chip/alcohol kit/etc I've been thinking about :P
