| | Monday, July 21, 2003 - 08:21 pm WELL I FINALLY BROKE DOWN AND WENT TO THE TRACK, AND LET ME TELL YOU I WAS NERVOUS AS HELL!!!!! BUT ANYWAY I HAVE NEVER RIDDEN IN ANOTHER TR SO I HAVE NOTHING TO COMPARE THESE #'S TO SO COULD SOME ONE TELL ME IF THESE SOUND RIGHT FOR AN 87 GN WITH, DUAL FLOWMASTERS WITH NO CAT, ADJ WASTEGATE( STOCK GAUGE SAID I WAS GETTIN' AROUND 15PSI BUT WHO KNOWS HOW MUCH I REALLY GOT!),ADJ FPR SET AT 35PSI AT IDLE STOCK INJ, PRO RACE WIRES, K&N, NO TIRE SPIN, STOCK TURBO,LAUNCH AT 2-3 PSI. THE REASON I POSTED THIS WAS ITHE FASTEST RUN I HAD WAS: R/T...1.170(I KNOW,I WAS NERVOUS!) 60'...2.551 330...6.958 1/8...10.554 @ 68.39 IF I HAD A BETTER R/T AND MAYBE A 9.9?? IS THAT WHAT I SHOULD BE RUNNIN'? THAT WAS AGAINST A NEW SS CAMARO THAT RAN 9.17 @79.5. I SAW HIM LINE UP AND PROMPTLY SHOUTED DAMMIT! WELL AFTER THAT RUN I LINED UP AGAINST A TOYOTA TUNDRA.....AND LOST 11.165 TO MY 11.616...I KNOW HERE'S WHY, ONE REASON BEING HIS R/T OF .616 AND MINE OF 1.025! AND THE MAIN REASON WAS AFTER THE FIRST RUN I GOT HOT SITTING IN THE CAR AND CUT ON THE A/C....AND LEFT IT ON!!! OH WELL...A COUPLE MORE TIMES AND MAYBE A SUB 1 SECOND R/T LOL! ANYWAY DO THOSE TIMES SOUND RIGHT TO YOU??? THANKS!!!!

| | Monday, July 21, 2003 - 10:01 pm Well, i bought my car with some stuff done to it. Southside traction bars, 3-way competition engineering adjustable shocks, poston fuel pump, taylor spiro 409 plug wires, 36lb injectors, 108 red armstrong chip, and turbo and intercooler have been ported. With that, i run a 60ft - 1.824 1/8th - 8.342 @88.21 1/4 - 12.841 @ 104.64 Dont worry about reaction times either... mine get consistently worse. My first was .52, 2nd was .71, 3rd was .73, 4th was .82, 5th was .99 and my last one was a 1.01. Thats just from trying different starts. I launch at around 3000 rpms on 11" nitto extreme drag radials. I just ran my induction hose through a headlight and screened it off. Seems to help a decent bit. If you want a pic, just email me. Animosity03@yahoo.com Those times seem around normal for the car. Also... reaction time doesnt count in towards your final time at all.

| | Tuesday, July 22, 2003 - 07:41 am Just a note ... reaction times won't affect the E.T. 2.2 60 ft isn't too bad on hard rubber street tires. If you are running sticky tires, you should be down in the 1.7-1.8s. Looks like the boost might have been really low, since you see the 10+ second 1/8 mile and low MPH. That equates to about a 15 second quarter mile. The car should run some mid 14s with stock boost and stock setup. Start looking into the Spring Cleaning and once you get some scan tool numbers, I'll be you'll start seeing some things to improve. Be patient, and have fun ... it'll come around!

| | Tuesday, July 22, 2003 - 05:56 pm lol. I left my A/C on once also during my first time at the track. It was so hot, my windows kept fogging up. I used to get 1.9x 60' times on regular goodyear non-drag radial tires. Did the car bog or anything when you took off? Do you have a scan tool? Try leaving with a little more boost.
