Gary Solomons (Garysol1) | Wednesday, October 22, 2003 - 06:54 pm I just wanted the world to know how much fun these Turbo cars are and just how easy they are to work on. I have had my T-TYpe for a few weeks now and really enjoyed the stock power but I just knew that I was missing a lot. So this evening I spent about 3 hours and installed these items. Casper hot wire kit Cotton's(casper)93 chip 36lb blue tops injectors accufab billet fuel regulator K&N on the mass air sensor When I was done I hit the key and she fired right up....I adjusted the fuel pressure to 40 and went for a drive. Now if I at all step on the gas in first she just lights em up and forget about the 1-2 shift. Over the weekend I will drop the tank and install my pump and and change to a 160 thermostat. I have Cotton's 3in single shot sitting here but I wont install that till my test pipe comes in. Again just wanted to let everyone on the board that I thank you all for the little tibits of info that has taught me so much in so little time. Oh yea...one little question. Now I have wheel hop. Any tips? Gary Solomons 86 Regal T-Type |
Dean Nelson (Deannelson) | Wednesday, October 22, 2003 - 08:58 pm Remove the hot wire kit, chip, blue tops, accufab, and K&N. ;-) Personally, I never had that problem, but Mike Nelson had this to say on the mailing list: +~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+ Start with a set of bilstein shocks, then poly bushings, I also prefer the 1.375" dia ATR/HO racing rear sway bar. +~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+ But then again, the ATR bar was the first mod. Hmmm... Dean |
Patrick Ireland (Pireland) | Thursday, October 23, 2003 - 04:15 pm I boxed the lower control arms and put poly bushings on the lowers only. I'll get to the uppers later. I don't know who my shocks are made by. Anyway, my best 60' is 1.86 with BFG drag radials - no wheel hop. It seems that boxing the lowers really made the difference. |
Conrad Carter (Cocarter) | Friday, October 24, 2003 - 06:19 am Poly bushings and box'd arms on rear arms or go to Hotchkis et al for really strong upper/lower rear control arms (upper arms are adjustable so you can change the pinion angle). ATR bar helps also. Conrad |
