| | Friday, August 31, 2001 - 06:39 pm Hello fellow list members. This my first post as a new member. This past Dec I was watching Speedvisions American Muscle Car and the show was on the Gn's and TR's and especially the GNX.I was really blown away by that program. The very next day I was driving through my town and Lo and behold is a GN for sale.AS iwas looking for a muscle car this one looked pretty good to me.Upon closer insp.it turns out to be a WE4.From what I have learned about the WE4has pretty much been already stated in previous discussions. What is unique about the WE4 is that there were only 1547 made and only in 1987.While all model years are desirable the 87's are the most sought after. My WE4 is one of 411 of that 1547 that also has the rear trunk spoiler and T-tops in addition to being all blacked out from bumper to bumper. The car is just awesome in its almost stock trim with orig.Turbo abd Intercooler.I just love it and it is truly something that is rare although there are other GNs that are even more rare like the GNX.Since I bought mine in Dec.2000 I have watched the market value rise nearly 5000 dollars! So hang onto your GNs and TRs and enjoy them to the max. | | Friday, August 31, 2001 - 09:19 pm Not sure where you got your info from ?, but i have never heard of this 1 of 411 with spoiler & t-tops???? To quote the 87' Buick bulletin # 87-031 given to dealers on 11/15/86: "please be advised that a new Regal WE-4 Turbo "T" Package is now available(production targeted for December 8, 1986). The content of this package is identical to the Grand National except for the following content: No rear spoiler "Y56" Aluminum wheels Gray cloth buckets with operating console(393) Price = $14,857 MSRP 'T' on front fenders "The WE-4 Turbo 'T' Package will enable you to merchandise a car that is similar in appearance, & yet lighter in weight, than today's Grand National. This reduction in weight theoretically makes the turbo T faster than a Grand National, & for a lower price." Anyway, just make sure your options code in the trunk says "WE-4" & if it does then someone "added" that spoiler on the back, which is fine as a lot of people do that but it's not "original". Hope you enjoy your car. Take care, Jay.

| | Saturday, September 01, 2001 - 07:55 am Jay etal; I would like to clarify my initial post. The previous owner told me of these numbers.Based upon what I have seen and heard it is now apparent that these numbers are bogus. He was trying to sell the car and make it more desirable to buy.At any rate the t-topsand rear spoiler are no doubt dealer installed options.Inside my trunk lid the options does have WE4 among the list of option codes. One thing is for sure only 1547 WE4s were made.AS far as other options you have pretty much summed it up for me.Thanks for your input and setting me straight.I do have a few little questions about things that are happening with my car.It is mostly stock and I want to keep it that way.I dont intend to race it just drive it on the street and enjoy it.From what I have learned from reading these discussions once you start changing things around you are never done.It all depends on what you want.I know these cars can be made to go faster than stock but I am nonetheless amazed at the level of performance I have and this car is14 years old and extremely tight with 78k orig miles.Thats all for my rambling Thanks again.
