I have an 87 GN and the coolant fan will not come on at all.The stock setup won't energize and neither will my manual switches work. the only way I get it to work is to hook my switch directly to the fan.I've checked all the fuses o.k. I have replaced all 3 relays and the coolant fan temp. sensor and still nothing. I know I'm getting a ground all the way to the fan , but no 12volts. I've been trouble shooting for days and I don't know what else to check. NEED HELP FAST
I found that i'm not getting 12v on any of the 10awg (red) wires going to the fan relays . could it be the fusible link? if so where is the fusible link ? any other ideas
Might be.... I had the same problem after I replaced my starter. I learned that I didn't put one red fusible link on the starter terminal.
After the fan relay failed twice I decided to replace the factory system with a "painless" wiring system from Summit. Includes relay and a sensor that turns on the fan at 180 and off at 175. Works perfect.
