i just installed a autometer boost guage it is reading 9 psi where my stock guage is hitting 14 i have been told that 14 is the stock number is that correct? and how would i know if the autometer guage is working correctly, i taped in to the hose comming off of the compressor and i get boost but no vaccume readings???
Who did you get the gauge from and did it come with instructions ?
the guage is new i re-installed that guage a diffrent way off of the vacume line like i was supposed to from the beginning it was reading 6psi i turned it up by boost controll valve (home made) it hit 10 psi max... and only for a while then it would leak at 7psi loud hissing???
First let's do away with your boost contoller.You need a 3way vacuum connector
1.The line from your boost gauge into one end.
2.On the vacuum pod the second line from the rear
goes into one end
3.The vacuum line from the pass. side fender into
the one end.
If this doesn't work than you have other problems
i had done this this is where i got my 7psi reading im just curious is that a good number or is it supposed to be higher (possible actuator problems???) some one had told me 14psi stock but the 7 that im running sounds more reasonable. is it 14?
If you have a 86 or 87 turbo car 14 boost is normal stock turbo.Make sure the lines from the solenoid are correct and the check valve is in the right direction.
