We have a fuse that blows immediately like a direct short to ground on that fuse buss. The main electrical items on this circuit are the dome light, radio, and cigarette lighter. This 87 T-Type Limited is like your TR. Someone has probably already solved this to find commality between cars and this symptom. Haven't tamed the archives yet, but working on it. Breaking out the circuit testing equipment, any suggestions on where to start? My first post. Thanks

Often times it's the cigarette lighter. The innards get loose and short out. Also it gets sloppy around where it goes thru the support and can short the wire that plugs in behind it.

I'd take a shot at unplugging the lighter wire and see if that cures it. If so, you may have to replace the lighter. This seems to be fairly common when you use the lighter plug for accessories (like we all do!)
