Hi. New owner of an 87 GN (56k miles) ALL STOCK. Water Temp light lit so I planned on installing a water tamp gauge along with my new boost gauge from AutoMeter to monitor the situation. Question: The only port to install the sending unit for water temp gauge requires removal of Coolant Temperature Sensor, rendering the relays for fan operation inoperable (Hello 250 degrees!)also causing Service Engine Soon light to light up. Anyone had a similar experience? I'm pretty sure one of you has successfully installed water temp gauges and figured this one out ... i'm still getting aquainted with the GN as I've been a long time IROC owner. I'm letting the car sit until I find a solution to this problem. Help please!
You want to tap into the hole on the pass side of the car near the upper rad hose.You may need an adapter.
Yep... wrong sensor. One controls all the relays and such. The other is just for the idiot light on the dash (that's the one your replace).
