Ok here is the problem. I was driving home from work when the service engine light came on. When I got home I started to look around under the hood. When I got around the TPS I noticed something that looked a little weird. There is a little hollow pin about 1.5 “ long and about an 1/16” in dia. that pushes the TPS down when you step on the gas. I noticed that this pin has snapped off. I was able to remove the rest of the pin but what can I do? Is there a replacement part I can get? Can I make a new pin to fit in the hole or do I need a new throttle body? Please help.
The same thing happened to me. I found a drill that was a couple of thousands too big and drove it in with a small hammer. (0.002") I repaired it right on the car.
The correct name is "roll pin". They can be purchased where they sell machine supplies. You may also find them in a Grainger's catalog. You just have to know the length and diameter you want. They are split on one side so they can squeeze down a few thou. when installed.

also, you can find roll pins at the local auto store. there usually in the section where they sell the "HELP" products.
Heh - same thing happened to me. Ya barely touch it, and it breaks! Anyway - my buddy helped me with fixing that...he did something similar (and free). He just drilled it out deeper ...not all the way through, but close... and used a nail thats was laying around in the garage. The nail is slightly tapered at the end, so he used a bench grinder and make the taper longer, then tapped the nail in with a hammer. Now - the thing is indestructible. I'll never use those flimsy rollpins again since i'd just break it again anyway. You won't be able to accidentally snap nail! ;)
both ways work - but i like not having to worry about it ever again with using a nail.
