| | Sunday, November 10, 2002 - 11:39 pm My seat belt indicator light keeps coming on, usually just staying on for a second or two. The chime will sometimes slightly peep, but sounds pretty weak. It acts like a bad ground somewhere-does anyone know where this thing lives so I can fix it or drive a stake through it's heart? Unplugging the wire on the belt coupler makes no difference, and bouncing on the seat does not make the light come on.

| | Monday, November 11, 2002 - 11:41 am Its located down at the fuse box. Been a while since i looked at one but its a plastic box about 2" x 3" with I think one wire going into the fuse box a 4 or 5 terminals going into a loose connector on the wire harness. Mine has been bad since day one but at least it stopped squawking a long time ago. I just ignore the warning light. Also it was used on just about every GM model from the eighties so if you want to replace it there are millions of used ones out there

| | Monday, November 11, 2002 - 08:22 pm You have a bad chime modual. You can just unplug it or get a new one. It's located between radio and steering coluum under dash. There are two types one with headlight warning and one with out. GM # 22535998 with headlight and # 25515279 without.

| | Saturday, November 16, 2002 - 07:09 am I have a very similar problem with the seat belt light coming on at random and once in a while. The chime module will also make a weak noise with everything off once in a while. I've had the module out and wiring harnass off to clean all of the contacts. No help. I tried to get a new module from GM but - you guessed it - discontinued. It looks like a salvage yard is my only option at this point. Was this module a standard part that could be found in many GM cars? If so, which ones would make good donors?

| | Saturday, November 16, 2002 - 08:20 am try doing a competitive cross reference at www.acdelcom.com. Then, do a vehicle search by part number. That will give you the listing of all the cars that had it.
| | Saturday, November 16, 2002 - 12:07 pm Tried the search. Maybe I did it wrong or it isn't a delco part but at any rate, no success.
| | Saturday, November 16, 2002 - 01:41 pm did you try the "competitive cross reference"; general motors corp"?
| | Saturday, November 16, 2002 - 01:47 pm Yes, also cut and pasted both part numbers listed by Phil Aubry.
| | Saturday, November 16, 2002 - 01:56 pm Me either. I checked around to. Maybe someone on the board who works at a GM dealership can "chime" in with a cross reference... I am sure that any n/a regal would have one in the boneyard. How much do the go for? I will check with a few junkyard dog friends...
| | Saturday, November 16, 2002 - 03:19 pm Sure appreciate it! Finding a Regal in a yard areound here is next to impossible. Closest I have come is a Cutlass and that didn't even have power windows. That's why I was hoping the module was used in other body styles.

| | Saturday, November 16, 2002 - 09:06 pm I got a bud who thinks he has one...sending email...

| | Monday, November 18, 2002 - 10:45 am Hey everybody, part #25524794 seat belt/headlamp warning module RPO T63 is still available from GM. List is $48.58. If anybody wants a new one e-mail me at turbofish38@hotmail.com and I will sell you a new GM part for $35.00 plus S&H. Used ones can be found in 82-86 Buick Century 85-88 Park Ave and 86-88 Lesabre(FWD) and 84-87 Cutlass and various other Buicks and Olds in the 82-88 range. There are about 8 part numbers for this module so take you old one along to match it up. A used one should look identical to your old part. Believe it or not this was an option on the cheaper models so the cars you may be looking at might not have one.

| | Monday, November 18, 2002 - 11:17 am regarding www.acdelco.com, try 999373; just a thought...
| | Tuesday, November 19, 2002 - 10:38 am Part number 999373 is the GM accesory kit for cars that dont have one. Its kind of a cheap mini buzzer that plugs into the fuse box. I've used these to make audible warning buzzer for knock sensors, overboost warning, etc.etc.
