I'm installing an RJC plate and it says you must drill out a hole for the EGR to still function. Is it entirely neccessary for the EGR to work? My state doesn't have emission checks so could I just leave the plate alone and not have the EGR work? If I do this should I disconnect the EGR module or do anything else?

Depends if you street drive it a lot. EGR reduces combustion temps and helps reduce ping. If you are running pump gas leave it hooked up. If you unplug the controler your check engine light will come on and your ECM will be in back up. You don't want to do that.
