I just purchased an 87 gn. I would like to install a boost, water temp, and oil pres, and fuel mixture(rich lean). I would like to know the stock boost of a gn(the original dash guage is not accurate). I would like to know how much boost is a gn capable of delivering Safely. The reason why I would like to know is should I purchase the 20psi or 30psi boost guage? Should I purchase the mechanical or electrical guages at summitracing. Also should I go with VDO or Autometer?Do they sell and guage pillars that I can mount these guages on? I would like to mount my boost guage on the upper pillar and the rest of the guages in the front of the shifter console or in the middle of the passenger dash ontop of the glove compartement. Any feedback, thanks

I think stock boost is 12lbs. Stay there until you learn A LOT about the car. After you get to know your car, you will prolly want to go over 20lbs.

Electic gauges work fine.

Kirbans and Ramcharges sell both the boostguages and the mounts.

Stock boost is 15 psi. If you purchase a scan tool such as the OTC 2000 or 4000, they have different "modes" which tell you the water temp, fuel mixture, and just about everything else to keep you engine in one piece. I would purchase a 30 psi boost gauge. "Safe boost" depends on the quality of gas and type of chip you are using. I run 23 psi all the times on the street safely. I have VDO and they make quality gauges. ATR, Kirban, etc have the A pillar for the gauges. I am not sure about summit. http://gnttype.org/vendors/index.html
