Anyone know (and willing to discuss) the details to the 55 lbs+ injector modification. I know I can send it out and have it done, but prefer the hands on approach.

Thanks.

Hello? Is this thing on? Ok, I guess no one wants to let the cat out of the bag on how to upgrade the ECM for the low impedence injectors. Maybe, I can get ya to spill the beans on the price of the ECM upgrade?

Bruce Plecan responded on the mailing list:
The guys that have figured it out, have invested time and effort in figuring
it out. And genrally they make a buck off of their efforts. I don't see
where one would expect them to give away their grocery money. No different
then asking the chip guys what they change, and expecting them to give away their work.
And from at least recent postings, I don't even see them posting here. Bruce

lol.

FWIW, if you have not bought the injectors yet, I think that Racetronix is selling some new 55's that do not require the ECM upgrade. You may want to check the group purchase section at www.turbobuick.com.

Well, maybe I should have started out by decalring that I am not French. I did not mean to offend anybody. Was just asking. I did not (still quite foggy) know the history of this mod. For all I know it is public knowlege and I just havn't come across it yet.

I was looking to do the mod myself because....

A) Cost. May not be an issue...Nobody has bothered to read that far in my post yet before going off on a rant (j/k Bruce :p).

B) I have the CORRECT tools/part sources general know how to do it my self.

C) I am "hands on" and don't want anyone's grubby mits on my car, if I can help it

D) Quality. Not saying that other can't/won't do a quality job, but I KNOW I will (see B).

E) Other ECM mods planned. I am going to be in there anyway. I don't know how "Mr. ECM Modder" will feel about a non-virgin ECM.

F) Time. I can probably do it in less than an hour, and don't want my baby out of commision for a week or two.

I have not bought the injectors, and will definetly look into the High-Imp 55's. Anyone have any input on these?

Thanks Shawn, Ken, and Bruce.

P.S. I have many projects planned, so I will have more questions. Also I will be posting the results, schematics, how-to's, etc... to anything moderately successful.

It's in the advertiser's section. About $390 a set and they are out until June.

Have you maybe checked their section of ECM modding? Maybe that would help if you still plan on doing the mod. Good luck.:)

Scott,

Are you refering to Racetronix? If so how do you find the "section on ECM modding". What other venders do it?

Thanks

Bob

What I meant was on the TurboBuick.com website, go to the message boards and the information on Racetronix new 57lb injectors is in the advertiser's section. These are the new injectors that do not require the ECM mod. There is a section in the message board there also that talkes about ECMs. But after a little looking it may not be much help, it seems to talk more about DFI setups, but you might find some info there. Good luck.:)
