I came across a tachometer that was made by autometer for the buick V6 motor. It is a new tach and the GM Part # is 25500151 it has "BUICK" and "V6" on the face of it and has two OEM plugs. This unit did not come with instructions and I was told that it is a direct connection (no splicing) but cannot figure where to plug into. Please help with anything about this tach and where to connect it? THANKS!
if its what im thinking, you can hook it right up to the green clip by the alternator, just clip it in. By the way, where did you get the tach, i could not find it online.
I have the larger recall version of that tach(#25500150??) and it only had one weatherpack style connector on it. Use the green clip with yellow wires for your tach signal and I think your second connector is for the illumination. You are right these tachs were made by Autometer so maybe their website has wiring instructions. These tachs are no longer available from Buick or GM as they were discontinued 3 years ago. Every once in a while I see one on eBay or maybe try Dennis Kirban because I bought a couple of factory blems from him about 10 years ago so maybe he knows where one is at.
