I have reason to believe that my cam sensor cap is damaged and needs to be replaced. In order to make sure is there any way that I can check it to make sure, like with a DVOM or etc??

Nothing very easy... you can back probe the blue wire and spin it and watch for a transition from ~7 volts to 0 as the window goes by the pickup.

Unfortunately, it won't tell you if the window has moved or the sensor is erratic (unless you have an O scope and can watch the waveform).

I went ahead and probed the blue wire with DVOM, get 7 volts but voltage will never change. why is this, is it time to replace??

Sounds like it isn't working then... theres a little window in the shaft that spins around and as it passes the sensor (part of the cap), it'll trigger the voltage to change. It happens pretty quickly, so you need to make sure your DVM is quick enough to detect the change or slowly rotate the sensor by hand (has to be out of the hole to do that).

My cam sensor is bad. Can I just replace the cap and if so, are any adjustments necessary after replacement?
