| | Monday, September 03, 2001 - 08:19 pm I have a 36 street rod I put a 86 GN engine and trans in it. The problem is getting an VSS signal to the ECM for TCC.I have Stewart Warner gauges for the speedometer. Wasn't the VSS in the back of the speedo head on these cars? What kind of signal do I have to generate to send the ECM. Square wave from a hall effect?,AC,Freq.? I hope you guys let me get involved with your group even though my car isn't all Buick, but it is Turbo powered!

| | Wednesday, September 05, 2001 - 03:39 pm I ran into this with my S-10 swap. Use a Dakota Digital SG-5 interface unit, along with their transducer that mounts to the conventional speedo drive cable. It outputs about 8 different types of signal (you'll need 2000 pulses per mile) for the GN ECM. The whole setup is ~ $125... HTH, Russ Selkirk
