Does it flash on briefly, or stay on for any length of time? Does the car a 'Volt Booster' or similar device in line with the brown field wire off the alternator? Does the car have an aftermarket chip, and if so what kind?

nothing inline but a diode on the back of the volt light.the chip has been programmed but before i got my hands on it. i can find out what program he used. and the light comes on in a full throttle situation and it comes on right before it shifts into second. then it will stay on till i let off the throttle.then it goes out , everything else seems to be working fine though.
