I just bought a 1986 Grand National. WOW What a car! Haveing owned a 1988 IROC and a 1969 Firebird 400 all I can say it why did I wait to get one (the reason is I am 19 and in college and I just got the money) It has 34k on stock engine rebuild and 25k on stock tranny rebuild with aftermarket clutches. It has ATR Stage 3A turbo, 2.5 inch stainless downpipe, 2.25 stainless crossover, 40 lb injectors, TTA fuel pressure regulator(60 psi) ATR ram air, ATR pitbull chip, hollowed cat, 2.5 inch hooker exhaust, K&N breathers, 3.5 inch MAF tube and maybe more that I forgot....anyways....when I first start it in the morning it idles extremely high(the tach says about 4000 but I would say more like 2000 actual). After it warms up the idle comes down nice to an acceptable level. I was wondering if the IAC and TPS should be adjusted? Also at WOT the car slightly stumbles(I mean slightly) and I wasnt sure if these 2 things may be related. I would greatly appreciate your help. Also any idea what she would run in the 1/4 with good traction? Thanks again!

The high and low idle sound like the iac need cleaning and adjusting. The slight stumble sound
like 1. not enough fuel pres. or 2.tps needs adj.
Read the different links on the subjects.

Idle air control- this controls the idle of the car.
