OK let me rephrase this..... I am new to my car so I have no idea what to look for.... My car is built for racing according to the guy I bought it from, so we are wanting to figure out what it can do. The Boost was set at 15psi when we bought it, well we finally got up the guts to turn it up to about 20psi. When we did it stalls like crazy and has almost no power... (and I am turning it up the right way) It also has some knocks coming from the engine... I'm not sure what is going on, so I turned it back down to play it safe. I don't want to run to rich.... My husband put a supercharger on his 91 Z28 and melted his pistons... So in otherwords he is too wrapped up with his car (Doing a rebuild)to help me figure out mine. The scanmaster is so confusing to me, it is like trying to teach a 5 year old german. I'm not car stupid, since my buick is new to me I'll just say I am BUICK STUPID.... Common Guys Turn this Chevy gal in to a buick gal....I am just so confused and any help would be great. Thanx....

P.S.

Phil I am glad you like my sense of humor...

Actually, that sounds like a nice streetable build up, not really a "race car".

Do some reading in the Technical Articles section of the web site. Pay particular attention to the "Quick Reference guide" ... it will help you understand some of what your ScanMaster is telling you.

DO NOT turn up the boost until you have adequate octane to support the boost (or your car will be sitting right along side your husband's with melted pistons too :) )

Some quick basics are:
- Adequate fuel presssure for the boost level and chip calibration
- Watch the O2 volts to get an idea where you are at when you get to WOT. You're looking for 780-800 mvs (for now)
- Watch the Retard!!!! Detonation kills motors. Anything over a couple degrees, get out of it.
- Sneak up on the boost a little at a time while carefully monitoring things.
