hi ya'll.i'm an orginal owner of a 86gn about 138k on her. and i have a problem.i was comming home the other day. stomped on the gas and the car acted like it blew off an intercooler hose.as i slowed stoping for a light. i noticed upon taking off again the car was sluggish and slow to respond it would come up to speed but real slow getting there. i looked at the coil and had some corrision. so put new plugs, wires, and coil. no dice.i was about finished with "spring cleaning", i've tapped around on the maf. no stunble was detected .where do i go next.i was thinking about ordering a heated o2.i will purchase a turbolnk as soon as they are ready.i just don't know which path to go down. mods are kb hi/lo prochip w/fan switch, 40# inj. kb boost a pump adj fuel psi.i know this is a little vage but i could fill up a whole page. with discription.

Do you have an extra MAF lying around or know somebody that you could swap a MAF with? It doesn't mean that there isn't a problem with your MAF just because it passed the tap test.

I hate to even bring it up....timing chain? Start with the scan tool, can't really do without it. I think they usually grenade though, so if it's still running you may be ok.

sorry y'all had some things to do. one of them was work on the gn. curt i remembered i had saved an old maf from when the dealer had replaced it. i dug that up. but first put on one of caspers heated o2's. idled a little better.but still not where it is supose to be. came back home put the old maf in. rought idel and could hardly back the car out. it's not a perfect test but i think the current maf is good. joe yes thankfully my chain is still good.probley should be put on the things to do list, since i'm around 135k.and i'm standing in line for the 3.0 turbolink (hurry ken).i'm still confused.the car sets in park, idels ok. you can drive it, but it 's not the car it was. the realy strange thing is come to a stop. go to heat up the tires slowly. and the rpm's will not go above 2200. and the boost will not build above 5 psi with the peddel on the floor??? should i start looking at the injectors and or fuel pick up in the tank or fuel filter. thank you for your help so far.sorry it took so long to get back

had a similar problem. when I mashed the gas the car would not go over 4000 RPM's. Turned out to be a clogged fuel filter. Hook up a fuel pressure gauge in such a way that you can view it while the engine is under load. Fuel pressure should increase with boost pressure. If it does the opposite there is insufficient fuel flow. hope this helps.

I'm not sure about this but I'll put it out there and see if somebody else comments on it, also might be something else to try. When I went on vacation last year my dad talked me into leaving him my keys incase the car needed to be moved, ie fire (ok, he got me to give him the keys for that one.) Well to make sure he didn't take the car out for a spin, I yanked the chip out of the computer. The car would run, idle nice, but if I tried to build up boost sitting in the driveway(didn't have time to take it anywhere), I could put my foot on the floor and I couldn't get over about 2000 rpm and like 3-5psi of boost. Also had a problem similar to that once when my wastegate was stuck shut, tried to spool up on the start line and couldn't get over like 2-3000rpm and 5psi, but ran like a bat out of hell down the track!! If you have another chip, maybe try that. Good luck.
