I have an '87 GN, all stock and want to try a performance chip. I have an EPROM burner, hex editor and even have a bunch of blank 2732 chips available. Is there somewhere to download bin files, or can you recommend a chip for my stock GN ?

regards,

Dave

After some review and reading, I have decided to go with a thrasher chip. I am looking for some advice on the necessary/recommended mods, namely:

Bosch 237 Fuel pressure regulator.
K & N air filter.
160 thermostat.
Adjustable Wastegate Actuator.

The first three items aren't a problem, but I am unsure of the last, adjusting the wastegate actuator. Can someone help with a simple explanation on how to properly set it ?
(I am a newbie and do not have any scan tools.)

I also read somewhere on this site a fuel pressure reg from a Somerset Regal is Equivelant to a 237. Is this correct and is it ok to use a
local brand like a Gp Sorensen ?

To set it properly you need a boost gauge and some
type of knock detector. Without them it's by ear and that could be boom. The only difference between the oem and aftermarket is the color.
