Does this plate really cut down on knock?One of the venders said with 93oct and 16 to 17lbs of boost,he used to get 5degrees of knock,With the plate he got less than 1 degree of knock.Has anyone else had similar results?
yes! For whoever wants to believe it - with the RJC plate, I can run 27lbs of boost on the street running 100 octane and no retard except for the hottest days. I was running 93 on the street with no knock, but weather changes reintroduced it, so I switched to 100, and most i've seen on the scantool readings was on a 96 degree day with 80% humidity..2.6 degrees of retard! Thats just awesome.
For comparison's sake - without the plate I could only run 27lbs of boost on 112-116 octane without getting the knock.
..I cant argue with the Directscan numbers...the plate just works, and works great. With that said - you cant argue with the cost of the RJC plate either.

Does this plate perform the same functions as a Hemco upper plenum?
I already have the Hemco and was wondering if this much cheaper plate did the same thing.
Yes and no. From what I remember the Hemco is supposed to help even out the airflow, right? Well the PP does this too. But the Hemco only "helps" even out airflow while the Power Plate actually evens it out. So no the power plate doesn't do the same as the Hemco, it works much better. :D I believe Jason sells plates specifically for the Hemco as well. I have yet to hear a bad thing about this plate.
