I got this 87 grand national about 2 months ago, i thought it was bone stock but as i go on and on i keep finding out more mods, (k&n air filter, but that was apparent, and a new exhaust, dynomax super turbo 2.5" cat back)then i noticed the fuel pump was pretty noisy, it whines pretty loudly. then i found the wiring harness for it, on the rear bumper. the connections for the fuel pump are different colors, the plug that’s on the fuel pump side is orange, and the other connection is black. i figure if it was stock both connections would be black... the fuel pump wires have a bar code on it, the numbers are GEP 09 (above the bar code) and 722744 (below the bar code.) if you get confused and think you can help i can email a picture, any help is greatly appreciated.

The connectors you are describing are all part of the stock wiring harness.
If you have any doubts about the fuel pump being up to snuff, replace it. Its not worth running with the stock pump (which was of marginal capacity when these cars were new) or one that might be on its last legs. If you don't have enough fuel capacity, you'll live to regret it.
If you plan to run the car hard at all, you probably should consider getting an upgraded fuel pump wiring harness. Most are set up to plug right in to the connectors you found. The stock harness actually has *7* connectors and a LOT of wiring between the battery and the fuel pump. The voltage drop from the battery to the pump is huge. These upgraded harnesses run a single, larger guage wire back to this connection for increased capacity to the pump.
