Hey guys,
I'm new to the list. Hi all....
I broke my Turbo TA out of
storage and trying to get it tuned for smog.
Seems to be a lean condition, causing the injectors pulse to fatten up.

My car is running very rich at idle and the BLM's are very high.
car has new gas. I'm running a red a 93 street chip. Cat is new
I'm running a scan master.
TPS at 42
MAF at 5
IAC at 25
temp about 180
Fuel press at 38 vac on
BLM at 141
O2 from 120 to 700 (vary erratic)O2 is also new.

Been banging my head on this thing for about a month!
Any ideas?

Thanks,

I would check for cracks/exhaust leaks before the O2 sensor, the extra air will make the ECU add fuel causing high HC & CO. Have you had the car tested at all yet if so what #s did you get HC-CO-O2-Co2& Nox. I am working on getting my CA Smog License so some data could help me give a better guess.

Hey Scott,
I did have a crack in the turbo side header I welded it up, but no change in the way the car runs. I'm running an auto meter air/fuel ratio guage that is spliced off the O2/sensor. I'm wondering if that may be a problem. The car was allowed 120 for HC but it ran 380 on the idle. The top test was ok.
I have screwed with the IAC and fuel press. Checked the vaper can and all the vacume.
Strange thing is the car ran great for a day and blm was 128 then the next morning it was back on the rich side. I'm running the 76 non-MTBE, ethenal. It's a strange deal. The car seems to run just fine no other problems.

Jeff

How was the CO% high HC&CO are caused by a fueling problem, usually a rich mixture (incomplete combustion). High HC alone is generally caused by an actual misfire. How old is the CAT? how are the plugs & wires? what chip is in it? If you have the #s for the CO,NOx....you can send them to me and I will give it my best shot.
