Mick Blankenship (Buickgn38sfi) | Wednesday, November 06, 2002 - 08:42 pm When you nail it at a stop light my 87 GN will die as if it is flooding out? but runs great otherwise? I just installed a RED ARMSTRONG 93 oct chip and new plugs (AUTOLITE 24) gapped at 0.35 all my fuel problems, jerking sputtering and fouling plugs, and my ruff idle and everything seems to have stopped,...but I cant get it to go from a stoplight my TPS is exactly 0.44 (idle) and 4.58 (WOT) FP @ 42 static I have tried reseting my IAC And I have good gas (Turbo blue) And it sounds as if I have a miis when you first start it up then it idles a little higher and its gone....until it warms up then it has a rough idle "In gear only" The only thing I can think of is a clogged cat converter anyone else got any Ideas? |
Jay (Jayster) | Wednesday, November 06, 2002 - 09:14 pm Mine did the same thing. 009 injectors? Reds chips ran PIG rich in my car especially at idle. Check your idle BLM's..mine was at around 90 Once the car started goin though..it ran like a banshee. Unfortunately my only recourse was to burn my own chips - now its no longer an issue, and the car is .6 faster in the 1/4 with no other mods. Not to knock Red or anything, but every GN is different, and in my opinion - everyone needs to use chips designed for their specific GN only based off of Directscan or Turbolink logged data. I can't stress how bebeficial and important that is enough. Just the gas savings between a pig rich car and a finely tuned car will more than pay for the hardware and software to do it over time. In my case - just my gas savings paid for the chip burning setup in 3 months! ..food for thought. |
frank marshall (Turbofrank) | Thursday, November 07, 2002 - 05:04 am Check the mass air flow if you can. What type of 02 sensor in the car and what are #&volts range. These are just a few things to check along with coilpack module fuel filter&pump spark plug wires header leak ground wires vacuum leaks |
