In anyone's opinion, What is THE BEST 92-93 octane chip on the market? Just want to know what you guys think.
For what it's worth, I had a Red Armstrong 93 chip in my Buick with the stock turbo and injectors, and I was happy with it. At about 17psi boost and 42psi fuel pressure, it did not knock with Sunoco-94 unleaded. At the track, I used 100-octane and ran 20-21 psi boost with no problems. I tried to beat that combination with various combinations of boost, fuel pressure, and spark timing (I burn my own chips), with very little success. This tells me that Red's chip is done right.
The only things I didn't like about the Red Armstrong chip was the 6,000rpm redline (I'm still a wimp when it comes to revving my stock engine) and the 200mph fuel cutoff speed. In my opinion, these cars have no business going over 130mph due to their aerodynamic qualities. Of course, neither of these is a big deal if you just control yourself!

Something I'd like to add to my previous post...
I've dug into the code on a few chips. An older Kenny Bell and some home-made brews come to mind. Of all of the chips I looked at, the Red Armstrong 93 seemed to have the most changes. Spark timing, fuel control, boost control, idle speed control, etc. all appear to have been elaborately re-constructed. This tells me that Red took some time to develop the chip.
To be fair, there are a lot of modern chips on the market that I haven't looked at. So, I guess take what I just said with a grain of salt.
Again, just an opinion...
