I having a problem with an 87 gn it want to hesatate and stall when cold but after warm up runs ok. I have checked tps cam sensor fuel pressure all check good.This only seem to be a problem until engine goes into closed loop then it runs ok.
Any help would be great.
mike, check your iac valve, it regulates your in coming air in to throttle body to increase idle rpm. look under up pipe going in to throttle body, it may need cleaning or replaced,cost $ 45/ 55.. joe

It has a new one on it and I have set it up is there anything else or what might cause it to act like a car with choke problems.
Also I need info on the tack it has started to read 2000 or 2500 at idle could that be a problem.

Sounds to me like you need a new Mass Air Flow sensor. Remeber,...if you get a new one you got to go back and re adjust everything else,...Have you done your spring cleaning yet?
Mike i agree with mick,also the cars chip and ecm controls iac, tps voltage and rpm's so you need a scan tool for spring cleaning.. joe
Sounds like you have my car. Mine was idling at 2000 rpm. Started one evening as I was leaving a parking lot. Scan tool reading showed trouble code 23 which is the MAT sensor, and 51 a PROM problem. I replaced the MAT sensor first, the one in the tube just behind a K&N air filter. No change. The person I purchased the car from said it had a street chip. No idea why that would act up after the few years that I have had the car.
Understand that chips may cause the service engine light to be activated. Mine was now, happened with the 2000 rpm but not until this problem. I found a few chips in a box in the car, put in what appeared to be a stock chip, the one I took out of the ECM read "Bulldog". The stock chip slowed the engine, the service engine light doesn't shine. Now the car idles rough and needs to be nursed for about 6 city blocks at low rpms. After the 6 blocks it runs fine at low and high rpms. Will try some of the suggestions above.
Interesting that our cars would have the same symtoms.
