Ok, here it is. I have a stock 86 GN. It has been a trailer queen for some time. It runs 14.3, but I am looking to change the chip for some better performance. Race fuel is not an issue. (I sell it) Which chip is best for wanting to run 12's..without many modifications.

It takes more than just a chip to go 12s, so take a look at the combinations listed in the various Recipes. Sticky tires are a very important ingredient, as is fuel delivery (pump, regulator), freeing up intake and exhaust, and tuning.
I just went from 14.30 to 13.40 by cutting the cat, using red armstrong 93 chip,fuel reg, and the xp pump and some basic upgrades ... 160 thermastat..etc.. but that worked for me there are many different ways to go Im sure your going to love getting there.. I do good luck

Pretty simple to get them to go 12s with traction and just basics like Eric described. Fun cars!
I would agree with Ken - use one of the recipes. For what's it's worth, I was able to go 12.83@108mph with the stock turbo, injectors, and exhaust system (minus the cat). Here were my mods at the time...
1. Modern Muscle in-tank OPS fuel pump (I didn't even hot-wire it, and I used the stock regulator)
2. 6" K&N filter with Modern Muscle steel MAF pipe.
3. Adjustable wastegate actuator set to about 19-20psi boost.
4. High-output coil pack (stock spark plugs).
5. Test pipe in place of catalytic converter (stock exhaust otherwise).
6. Engine tie-down strap.
7. Pinion snubber.
and the three most important items...
8. Custom chip that I made - it ran 25 deg. of timing at WOT and close-to-stock fueling.
9. 100-octane unleaded gas.
10. 8" slicks mounted to a pair of GN rims.
On a relatively cold day (about 55 degrees), I ran the 12.83@108mph with a 1.94 60' time (about 3psi launch, as I recall).
If you compare what I did to the recipe's, you'll see that they're pretty close. Can't go wrong with the recipes. I suppose if you had a chip that ran 20psi boost, high spark timing (25-30 degrees), and a good pair of slicks, you could hit twelves with a totally stock car and 116-octane gas. It would be a helk of a run, though, and I question whether the fuel system could handle it without blowing a head gasket.
