Changing the stock fuel pump with a walbro 340. The stock fuel pump is alittle longer than the walbro. That means with the pump and pulsator damper installed the pump does not reach the bottom of the support for the fuel pump. Can I remove tha damper and attach the pump with a hose directly to the steel line without the damper?? Will this be a problem?? If so what are my choices?

I did not reuse the damper and I would bet that most people don't. Just use fuel injection hose (it has to be able to handle the high pressure) and double clamp the hose at both ends - you sure don't want it coming off and have to drain and drop the tank again. Most people cut off the necked down portion of the tube to which you will connect the hose. If you do cut it off, be sure to smooth it off so there is no sharp edge to cut into the hose. While you are in there, you might want to consider upgrading the ground. The details, of course, can be found in the tech pages on gnttype.org.

Thanks, the instructions for installation gave the example of one with the damper and one without. So I fugured I could remove it and there would not be any problem. I will double clamp it because removal of the tank again I do not see on my adgenda it at all possible. Thanks again.
