Sorry to beat a dead horse but I need some input from you guys who have been there and done it. I am at the point where I need a scan tool. I would love to buy a Scanmaster and a Turbo Link but I can't afford both, at least right now. I love the idea of the Scanmaster's small size but will I regret it's limitations quickly? Is there a way to mount a laptop in the car that wont interfere with passengers? Any input would be great. I just dont dont want to make a costly mistake. Thanks to all.
IMO, the SM is well worth it, as it is always there, and it's compactness does not inhibit the passenger capacity. If you truly believe that you will always have the laptop in your car, and will either leave it booted all the time, or are willing to wait and boot it up every time before you start driving, then there is no need for SM. For laptop holders that others have made, I haven't seen one that isn't intrusive somehow, either to the front passenger, or to some of the dash controls. I am not aware of one that is commercially available.

OTC 2000…It is about 5" x 9". The OTC is a good scan tool but it does not display in real time. I have mine mounted on the ledge directly above the radio and heater/AC part of the dash. Price about $150-$175.
I did more reading today and went with Turbolink. Thanks to Ken for his help. Thanks for the feedback guys.
