Steve Robinson (Fstrthnu) | Tuesday, January 13, 2004 - 02:49 pm I had my motor rebuilt and I am trying to get it running again but I am having idle problems and it smokes like a chimney. I believe it is black or grey. I have done some test like tapping on the maf, replaced the iac and still no change. I do not have a scan tool yet so is there any way of checking this car out for now? My fuel pressure is about 45psi with a thrasher chip and my tps is .43. |

Jay (Jayster) | Tuesday, January 13, 2004 - 08:49 pm what do your plugs look like? Are they all reading similar? Obviously, you're running rich as sin. Do you still have a stock chip handy to try? Any mods like bigger injectors? |
Jay (Jayster) | Tuesday, January 13, 2004 - 09:02 pm also - plugged CAT, bad FPR, pinched fuel return line, and PCV will cause rich conditions if your motor was just rebuilt *properly*. Check those out too. Gray smoke is back in the motor - valve guides or rings... |
