I was just planning my next job on the good ole GN, where do i get the red armstrong 93 chip,xp fuel pump, and what should i use for a fuel regulator? is the holley a good unit? or which one is a good adjustable factory replacement? i still got a little surge to my car at WOT, and i put the ole scan tool to it and it says i'm running rich which should be right... right?? being under a load and accelerating and all. Well guys, i'll check back later, gotta get to packing up the dreaded big ole tool box, Take care.

| | Tuesday, August 21, 2001 - 02:43 pm See our vendors list at: http://www.gnttype.org/vendors/ And look for Quad Air. That is the source for Red's chips and the XP pump. Not familiar with the Holley regulator. From their web site (http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/Products/FMS/FMSFP/f512-503-1.html) it looks like a modified stock unit, painted red. Hope they're not charging a lot if that's all it is. There are many other sources for modified stock units and billet units. Just see our vendor list for sources. With these cars, your Summit/Jegs catalogs are usually the wrong place to start. At WOT you should be 'rich', but not just merely 'rich'. Generally you'll want to see 760-780 mV or so at WOT to make the most power but prevent knock. More will just blow black smoke and slow you down, leaner will cause knock and eventually hurt something. See http://www.gnttype.org/maint/quickref.html for some reference guidelines on tuning.

| | Tuesday, February 19, 2002 - 12:43 pm I bought a 1987 Regal T Type and it started to blow white smoke out of the vented oil filler cap on the valve cover. I tried replacing the PCV Valve and that didnt work.. I can tell that the vacumm from the PCV to the intake is working fine. Any suggestions?? Is it possible that a head gasket it blown?? Mike

| | Tuesday, February 19, 2002 - 01:00 pm Not just possible, but probable. Run a compression test. Also check to make sure that you don't have antifreeze in your oil. That is bad. The antifreeze can eat your bearings. Brian

| | Tuesday, February 19, 2002 - 03:41 pm Ya but when you say white smoke do you mean just a little smoke or steam visually like a cig burning? or do you mean big time blowing out of the breather? and is this in park or under load (brake torque)?
