Steve Vaillancourt (Stevev) | Wednesday, September 12, 2001 - 08:30 pm Anyone have any opinions on whether thumbwheel chips are all they are cracked up to be. My car has one and I am trying to tune it. |
Scott Keller (Keller) | Wednesday, September 12, 2001 - 08:55 pm There are thumbwheels and there are thumbwheels. Which do you have? The 'Max Effort' thumbwheel is often used by people with very quick cars with lots of mods and big injectors to fine-tune these combinations. Probably a tool best suited to use by someone who really knows what they're doing. Casper's Electronics offers a thumbwheel chip with a variety of different chip images for different conditions (anti-theft, valet, street with pump gas, race with race fuel, etc.) burned into it that you can select as needed. This same type of chip can be set up to be burned with any images you want for easy chip selection without removal of the ECM every time you'd like to make a change. What do you have, what's your combo, and what are you trying to do? |
