jonathan Honts (87buickboost) | Monday, August 12, 2002 - 06:09 pm I plan to buy the rear soft brake pads from Postons, but I would also like to buy some stronger drum brake cylinders. A friend of mine said that you can put S-10 cylinders on for a strong hold. Is this true, has anyone else heard this, if so what years were the best/strongest for a GN. thanks for any advise |
Ken Mosher (Kenmosher) | Tuesday, August 13, 2002 - 02:21 pm Yes...part numbers are on the Part Number section of the web site. Also, instructions on how to install them (and a line lock, which you will need with that mod) are in the BRAKES section of the Technical Articles. |
Erik Skarsgard (Fuzzygn) | Thursday, August 15, 2002 - 05:43 am Save some dough and go to the local auto parts store and buy 2 sets of the cheapest shoes (softest usually) you can get. Then just use the longer shoes from the two sets. Same thing for less than 20 bucks. The S-10 cylinders are from a manual brake system. Check the website for the proper part number. |
Ed MacKenzie (Edmackenzie) | Saturday, November 02, 2002 - 06:40 pm The s-10 and any G-boy cars are the same, front and rear brakes.. kinda neat .. the rear cylinders are about 15 bucks Canadian and the rear shoes i got for about 15 bucks too (I own a muffler shop, get parts cheap :P) |
