Sunday, November 03, 2002 - 09:21 pm I NEED BIG HELP. I have a 86 GN and until recently the powermaster brakes were working fine. Now the 30 AMP fuse keeps blowing. I seems to be when the AC was on, but I haven't check it when it's off. Does anybody know what the hell is going on?!?!?!. Please, any advise will be helpfull!! Thank in advance!!

Monday, November 04, 2002 - 08:42 am The rad fan DELAY circut is on the powermaster circut. On left fender unplug the rear large relay and see if fuse stills blows. This will only disable the delay feature and not the high, low speed circut.

Saturday, May 31, 2003 - 03:04 pm Phil, I forgot to add. This all started after I had a brake line blow out. The motor ran and ran until I replaced the line, which was very quickly. Could the motor running for so long cause the it to got bad? Or is ther someting else going on. I can't see the AC relay causing the 30 amp fuse to blow. Sorry for the delay in writing this, It's been a while since I could write. Gulf WAR II

Wednesday, June 25, 2003 - 10:03 am Screw it. Thought I had the problem fixed but guess not. Was working for a while. I took off all the electrical connector and cleaned them. Brakes worked like a champ for about one week. Blew another fuse last night with the AC on!!!!!!!! Time to change over to vacuum

Friday, October 24, 2003 - 10:44 pm Joseph, what ever happened? I had same problem with 87 GN about 6 months ago but the fuses never blew. I replaced full power master unit and everything worked good until today. Got hard brake pedal and what is different this time is that the 30 amp fuse blows almost immediately once I change it and hard pedal comes back. Does anything think I need a brass valve in addition to another new power master?

Saturday, October 25, 2003 - 11:01 am Did you unplug the delay fan relay to see if fuse still blows? During bleeding of the new unit did you let it run for more than 30 seconds without a cool down period.

Sunday, November 09, 2003 - 04:20 pm I'm having the same problem with blowing fuses with my 87 Grand National. I would like to keep the car as stock as possible so I'm not looking at switching over...not yet! If you are having any luck in fixing your problem, please let me know. I'm giving up and taking my car to a shop to have it fixed. I'll keep you posted. Good Luck, Allen

Sunday, November 09, 2003 - 08:59 pm I can walk you thru repair if it not too late. GM hasen't used Powermaster since 1987 and I doubt any dealers out there will do anything short of a complete unit replacement due to lack of knowledge of the unit.

Monday, November 10, 2003 - 07:41 pm http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/partsvoice/frameset.cfm This site is selling the motor only. I am currently buying one for my TR because the pump just runs constantly with new accumilator and switch. The pump must have developed and internal leak I think they want 149.00 new (not rebuilt). Called Buick and they wanted 600.00! WHAT!
