Is white plumbing tape supposed to be used on the fuel line threads when installing an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? How about the fuel pressure gauge fittings? Just want to make sure I'm not shooting gas all over my engine compartment under boost.

No tape on the FPR. The o-ring seals it. Tape will just interfere, and could actually cause a leak. For the fuel gauge, you don't need any for the fitting where it screws onto the Shrader valve, but the threads on the back of the gauge, and probably the rest of the fittings on it need tape.

Make sure when installing the reg. to hand tighten
the fuel line first, then install the 2 bolts into the rail and than finish tightening the fuel line.

Does anyone ever replace the plastic L-shaped vacuum elbow that goes to the top of the fuel pressure regulator? My billit regulator sits higher than the stock one and the plastic vacuum elbow looks like its straining to fit on the higher regulator. If anyone ever changes this part, where is a good place to find one?

Kirbans sells a chrome line to replace your current line. You will have to use your 2 ends.
When I tried too adjust my plastic line it snapped
due to age. If all else fail just vacuum hose will
work.

Not to question the use of plain vacuum hose in place of the plastic L. But is there not a reason for the size restriction in the plastic L? And if you use a vacuum hose it will be quite a bit bigger. I opened up my hood yesterday and there it was broke.GM says it is a discontinued part and nobody at any parts store I went to has a clue. Also the check valves that are on the system where can I get them or what is the part number? Any help is greatly appreciated as usual.

Rubber versus plastic does not matter nor does size. If you want the plastic with rubber connectors "Curtis Industries" sells them. The plastic comes in a roll and fittings extra. It's sold like a drip system for your yard.
The GM number for the EGR check valve is 25525315
