Nate Sosin (Xkalliber) | Tuesday, April 09, 2002 - 08:21 pm i dont own a regal, but i inherrited a 1990 reatta from my grandmother and i LOVE that car. with the ceremonial passing of ownership, she hinted that i feel free to "represent" with her car. being a buick as opposed to a honda, and me being 18 years old in high school, i have absolutly no idea where to look for parts for it. basically, i want to start small. what kind of exhaust system modifications would give me the most added horsepower for two to three hundred dollars? (the car needs a new muffler anyway). other questions, possibly irrelevant, how compatable are regal parts with the reatta? my car is n/a, isnt it? does anyone know about spoilers for the reatta? my main question concerns the exhaust, but anything you can tell me about other reatta mods is greatly appreciated. nate |
Ken Mosher (Kenmosher) | Wednesday, April 10, 2002 - 09:25 am Question 1: Basically, anything low restriction (think about some sort of "turbo" muffler and stay way from glasspacks). Question 2: Maybe the radiator cap is compatible with 198x Regals The serious answer is, not much. The Reatta got the early 3800, on center, balance shaft, FWD bellhousing, etc. It has a lot of commonality with the W body platform (the FWD Regals). Question 3: Your Reatta is definitely N/A. They never made a turbo version (at least for public release .. they did make one as a mule until a journalist stuffed into a guardrail). Question 4: Body parts (spoilers, etc) are going to be hard to find, due to the low production numbers. You might try some of the places like Carparts.com, J.C. Whitney ... they tend to source things from a variety of manufacturers. |
