Has anybody tried the boost commander from MMC(what used to be)? Does it really make a difference in spool up time? I gutted the cat and switched from stock to TA-49, got lag too. Also want to keep stock T.C. THANKS
Yes, I do use it. And yes, adjusted properly it will definitely aid in spool up. Although I can't imagine why you would have any additional lag with a TA49, that turbo should have added no lag at all.

It's a pretty neat unit. If you are using a chip with the conventional spool up code, it will help spool. If you are not using the wastegate solenoid to control boost at the moment, it should not make a difference tho' I can envision some set ups that using the solenoid might improve upon.
I am like Dave; it's hard to believe that you need more spool with a TA 49 unless the chip is very rich or you have an exhaust leak.

I have similar experience to Steve and Dave. Very happy with the BstC, I noticed a difference in spoolup with a 51. Something else may be causing the slow spool with the 49. What chip? Mods?
