I just want to make sure I'm not going to kill my baby! I just ordered a new walbro 340 pump with hot wire kit (cuz I heard so many people say the stock pump is inadequate); just wondering if that pump is okay with a 237 regulator and stock injectors. I plan on buying adjustable regulator and blue tops in the future, but just can't right now (financial advisor read: wife) If this is not safe, am I better off keeping the stock pump and waiting until I get the other stuff or is there something I can do to make it safe? no way you need that baby, it wont hurt a thing, if your going to keep making mods your gonna need it, so let her rip, if you make some big mod and run out of fuel pump its going to stop you from maxing out the combo resulting in a car thats not a fast it could be, and not a safe for the parts, if you can get the adj reg at the same time because they sort of need each other when tuning is required
Right now, I'm researching what I want to do with my combination. I keep reading that if you want to make over 500HP in a turbo regal, you need to flow alot of fuel. Is a Walbro 340 or XP pump good enough to supply 009's or 50# injectors with a TA-49 or TA-60 turbo. I tend to lean towards an addition Bosch in-line or staged double in-tank pump system, but I don't know if this is mandatory or overkill. I don't want to spend the extra money if I don't need to. What is the best set-up for a car flowing this much air? Do I risk a dangerous lean out with a single pump?
A single 340 will carry you into the ten second range if the engine will take the abuse.
That is far more than you need for a TA60/50# injector combo.
You need more fuel if you want to exceed stock horsepower. A 340 will cover the bases and prevent all the problems associated with double pumpers, external pumps, etc. When you start pushing 600 hp, it will be time to consider different arrangements.
