Tuesday, August 13, 2002 - 09:03 pm Reading through the posts, it seems Walbro's are good pumps. This setup on EBay here.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1850594969&r=0&t=0 is this kit really a plug and play or will I have to modify the pickup tube as per Mr Mosher's write up on upgraded pumps ?

Wednesday, August 14, 2002 - 05:23 am There is a plug in unit out there but most vendors don't sell it. I bought mine from Bill Anderson of Anderson Perf.(410)282-9335.

Wednesday, August 14, 2002 - 08:33 pm I think what they mean by "plug and play" is the hot wire portion. You may have to modify the pickup tube. The kit is basically a new fuel pump with a hot wire kit. Kirban's doesn't sell them as a package but they sell a new hi-po pump for $125 and the hot wire kit(plug and play) for $60. About the only difference I can see is this one has the body ground on it, Kirban's doesn't. The wiring portion is plug and play because you just plug it into your existing wiring. But the pump part, well you'll just have to see about modifying it. I'm sure a few other vendors sell the hot wire kit as well. Maybe even cheaper. I'd check around with the Buick vendors listed on the site. With them you'll get the feedback and support you may need. Good luck.

Thursday, August 15, 2002 - 06:40 am Why does the ad mention that they are selling a 340 but the presssure-flow plot is from a 307 ???

Thursday, August 15, 2002 - 03:54 pm OK guys, the kit on e-bay is from Racetronix. Racetronix is one of the vendors listed on the site. Since I bought mine before they put an add on E-Bay - I still have some of my dignity intact. The kit was shipped promptly and the delivery time was very good - even from Canada eh? The kit is exactly as advertised. The pump is a Walbro GSS340. As for the installation, I'll know after I complete the weekend project ;)
