Brad Hodge (Bradhodge) | Sunday, November 24, 2002 - 05:34 am The front exhaust hanger(the one that hangs off the trans mount) is broken. GM has discontinued it. Anyone know where I can get a new one? Or where I can get the rubber strip to rebuild the stock hanger? Brad of FL 87 TR, all stock for now |
mario rodriguez (Buicktime) | Sunday, November 24, 2002 - 07:42 am Kirban Performance definitely carries those exhaust hangers ($32.00). # 215-766-1611 |
Brad Hodge (Bradhodge) | Sunday, November 24, 2002 - 12:42 pm Part #6914 at Kirban is the hanger and it is discontinued... I did find out from another source that Goodyear Rubber Products is a retail store that carries flat steel reinforced rubber for this purpose. If anyone knows where to get the whole hanger either new or refurbished, I would rather buy it whole than refurbish it myself. ATR (www.atrperformance.com) appears to carry just the rubber part, but then I am back to drilling out the rivets and getting the proper bolts. It will work, it is just not original. thanks |
Eric Fisher (Ericf) | Monday, November 25, 2002 - 11:02 am I had the same problem when I hung a new cat-back on mine. Go down to a parts store with a good supply of exhaust parts. NAPA is usually good for this. See if they will let you look through their exhaust hangar bin and find one with a rubber strap big enough for the job. Drill out your old rivets and reattach with nuts and bolts. |
