Ken Mosher (Kenmosher) | Tuesday, April 15, 2003 - 07:47 am Be very careful with nitrous on these cars ... you need to make sure your fuel system is up to the task. At a minimum, make sure you have a good intank pump (not the stocker). Also, if you use it, make sure you use the fogger style nozzles (the ones that bring both nitrous and fuel to the nozzle) otherwise, you probably won't have enough injector. I found that you start really rich with the fuel "pill" for safety and step down in fuel until a safe level is met according to your scan tool. The nitrous can be an "intercooler in a bottle", so make sure that you feed it enough fuel. Watch very carefully for detonation and turn the boost down, since the nitrous will raise the boost. |
Jon J Revers (Wildman) | Monday, May 05, 2003 - 05:35 pm I have just added a 75 shot of No2 to my 87GN to help compensate for the lack of o2 at my elevation (Denver @ 5600ft). I have been running AC Delco Rapid Fire spark plugs. From what I understand, I should use a cooler plug in conjunction with the No2. Any suggestions? It runs great! Aside fromt the power increase it seems to run much smoother. Thanks |
Ken Mosher (Kenmosher) | Wednesday, May 07, 2003 - 07:55 am You might want to try AC CR42TS plugs. Two steps colder than stock. BTW, I'm up on Fort Collins! Gimme a shout sometime! |
