| | Thursday, May 29, 2003 - 08:03 pm Nicker, I use Aquamist nozzles and fittings. Take a look at this photo. You can get them from Brad at www.kcsaab.com. tell him I sent you. /image{Aquamist Nozzles on Denis' 86GN} Denis Kefallinos

| | Thursday, May 29, 2003 - 08:47 pm All i see on jegs and summit is NOS injectors, which mixes the gas and nos together, should i use one of those and just put alky thru both openings, or better yet for 50/50 water alky, have a tank of water and a tank of alky and have them mixed their, it would last twice as long, but i would need to do twice to work and spend twice as much to get it together.

You can also try him at schlupsa31@mchsi.com SMC also has a web page but I forget the address. Shawn 87 GN 84 GN

| | Saturday, June 21, 2003 - 10:09 am Dman, weve written before... I run a 50/50 mixture of water/methanol in my water injection tank. Using my Aquamist pump in my 1S system, and a .7mm nozzle which flows about 275 cc/min, Im flowing about 15% as much out of my nozzle as I am fuel through my injectors. I find this to be a good amount to push, as pushing much more than this results in having to delay the trigger onset higher than Id like. The application is a '99 M3, supercharged to 11 psi with a Vortech centrifugal blower, and no intercooler. The trq peak is around 5200 rpms, and of course, hp peak is at redline, at 6800 rpms. Right now, the trigger is set for 4.5 psi, which is about 4700 rpms at wot. Using the 1mm jet, which flows about 310 cc/min, I found that on the dyno, you can definitely see a 'lumpiness' or roughness in the curves at the onset of the spray. I could either raise the trigger, of go with a smaller nozzle. Since I dont have an intercooler, Im reluctant to raise the trigger, because raising it to say 5500 rpms (5-5.5 psi) means Im only applying the effect for about 1300 rpms before redline. Id much rather spray longer, for a more prolonged effect. To do so, I need to go with the smaller nozzle. Hence, the .7mm jet. I'll know if the intended effect is achieved next time on the dyno. But Ive recently been researching the use of Toluene as an octane booster, and started thinking, what would happen if we were to substiture Toluene for Methanol in our water injection systems? Its got a somewhat higher octane value at 114 (R+M/2) vs 101 for Methanol. But how effective is it as an evaporant? Any thoughts of what might result from this substitution in a 50/50 blend? | | Sunday, June 22, 2003 - 10:24 am I uset toulene with some success. It ate my pump, (no lubricant) and I went back to alchy. Alchy (pure de-natured) worked as well, without the fire hazzard..
