I would like some info regarding a fuel system setup. I would like to know if I should purchase for my 87 gn the Red Armstong 93,100, 107, 108 chip with an xp fuel pump with volt booster and blue top injectors from Red Armstrong. Or the racetronix fuel pump with Lucas 009's, don't know what chip to purchase with this setup? Should I order the complete package from Red or the fuel pump and 009's and and aftermarket chip(don't know which one to purchase with this setup. I understand that fuel injection and chips are a touchy subjest but any valuable info will be appreciated.
Thanks

My opinion is to deal with one vendor for as much as you can especially when it comes to chips and tuning. You are likely to end up with a compatible package and will get the advantage of his experience.

Vendors sometimes get tired of giving advice and information to someone, then the person buys the parts else where.

I agree with Nick, pick one vendor and try to stay with them that way whenever you call, they pretty much know your history and parts making it a bit easier for them to help you with whatever your question. As far as injectors and fuel pump, this is one area of the car where you can do it right the first time or you can do okay then spend more money later. You need to be honest about how fast you want to go. Most people, I believe, would recommend either the 50lb injectors or the new 57lb ones. They should give you more than enough head room and you might never need to upgrade those again. I've got 36lbers and I wish I'd gotten the 50's. I had always planned on just getting into the 12s but after I was there I wanted low 12s, ie 12.00, but now I'd like to crack into the 11s pretty good. I don't plan on going any further than 11s due to the rollbar rule once you hit 11.99. The 36lbers are good to about 12 flat, some say mid 11s, some say high 11s, I figure once you're getting to 12.00 then you better be careful, it would be safer and probably easier if I had the 50s. One of the pages on the website pretty much says the 36lbers are good to about 11.8, but then they are maxed out. The 50's on the other hand are good to about 10.70's(10.68 actually is 100% duty cycle, that is if I read the chart right, which I believe I did. I would pick a vendor, call them up, and talk to them about what your total plans are for the car. They should be able to set you up with exactly what you need. And about the injectors and cost, the ones I mentioned may be a little more expensive than the ones you've picked but not when you consider how much money you'll have in injectors if you end up buying another set down the road. Buy them once and be done with it. Good luck with whatever you choose and have fun.:)
