1987 GN

For next year I plan to add 3" down pipe, new exhaust system, a cold air intake system, to what I already have, which is; XP fp, adj. fpr, stock but rebuilt and fresh injectors, a number of different chips (thrasher 92 and 100, red armstrong 92) and that's about it. What turbo to I want to up grade to? I am thinking that I have all winter to find one on Ebay if I know what I am looking for.

Thanks Norm

You are going to want to match a set of injectors to any upgrade in turbo, if you plan to run any significant levels of boost.

A TA49/TE44 is a great street turbo, since it doesn't require a converter (although if you have one, it doesn't hurt). It'll need blue tops or 009s to get the best performance out of it (high 11s are fairly common).

A TA60, PTE51/52, TE60 is a bit bigger and really should have a converter and 009s/MSD50s with it. More lag, but definitely more air flow for mid 11 potential.

I am using precision's PT51 with MSD50's and love the combo. I am running 11.50s@117mph, with a Precision Vigilante Lock-up converter(3000 stall)With Precision Turbo's chip the car idles like stock.Consider this turbo and chip combo, you wont be dissapointed.
