1.) Would a front mount intercooler increase the stock turbo's efficiency?
2.)If answer to #1 is maybe, then should a turbo and intercooler upgrade be considered?
3.)How do I go about finding or ordering a chip for Lucas 009 injectors? (I know that they don't need an upgraded driver, but the chip itself has to be able to operate them right?)
4.)If anyone out there has the SMC alchy system, I would like to know if it is reliable. Is it safe to use on a daily driver? Does that system actually guarantee a no-knock situation?

I have saved some money for just this occasion,(X-mas) and want to make educated descisions. I turn to the GNTTYPE community for that information. Thanks guys and gals!

Have a great holiday!

  1. Depends on the intercooler ... there are some nice stock location intercoolers, neck modifications, and front mounts. Usually not the first modification done.
  2. A common "step up" bolt on is a good turbo. The intercooler can be done at the same time or later... however, the injectors usually need to be upgraded with the turbo.
  3. Several vendors make/sell chips, including Jay Carter, Red Armstrong, Bob Bailey, Cotton's, Full Throttle, etc. Take a cruise down the Vendor List on the web page and there are several good sources.
  4. Lots of folks use the alky system. It's like anything else, you have have tune for the car ... too much alcohol, and you lose performance, too little, you get detonation, etc.

Take a look at the Recipes page on the web site for some ideas (lots of info there!)
