Has anyone use an electric exhaust dump? I found a site that sells them but want to know if they leak or not.

Back about 5 years there was someone at the GS Nationals who had developed a modified downpipe for the 86/87 TRs that had something like this integrated into it. However, it was mounted up high enough on the pipe that a quick glance under the car wouldn't reveal anything. Wasn't visible from under the hood, either.
While this looks like it could be pretty slick, I would be concerned about longevity and sealing, as you've mentioned.
